Did you know?

Facebook is tracking you.

Every page with a "like" button is tracked by Facebook.

Even if you don't click on "like", you are still being tracked.

They are not tracking you for fun.

Facebook is going to make $1 Billion in 2011.

How Does It Work?

FaceOff is a Chrome Extension that implements the 2-click "like" button, inspired by the work seen on the German tech-news site Heise.

The reason for having a "like" button instead of blocking Facebook plugins outright is respect for the content owner.

If the content owner has a "like" button, then I should be willing to share the content if I find it worth sharing.

The FaceOff extension blocks Facebook from tracking you by replacing the "like" button with an image.

Because the real "like" button is not loaded, Facebook can't track you.

If you want to share something with your friend, click on the image. Only then would it transform into the real "like" button.
